About My Store
I have been selling online since 2002 - first via Ebay but beginning in March 2004, exclusively through online bookstores. I currently have 19,000+ books online and add 1,000+ books EACH month. I am a one-person operation. I select the books, write each description and ship every book. I also have my online inventory listed with other major online bookstores (ABE, Amazon, etc.) - BUT the same books HERE are 45% less than my books listed on Amazon, Abe, etc. Beginning in April, 2010, I plan to add items here - exclusive to Ginny6 Books.
Virginia "Ginny" Six at age 12
The name "Ginny6 Books" is in memory of my mother, Virginia. Everyone knew her as "Ginny". Mom's maiden name was Six - hence, the "6".
The Six reference is also in honor and memory of Hazel and Perry Six, my maternal grandparents.
Mom passed away in March 2004 after battling cancer. About 2 months before her death, I asked her if it would be OK to start an online bookstore named after her, Ginny6 Books. She smiled and I had my answer. The same day she died, I signed up to start selling books online. First I started with Alibris. Later, I started listing my same inventory with AbeBooks, Amazon and Biblio. On Memorial Day, 2008, this website was launched.
You may notice two cardinals perched on the middle bookcase at the top of my website .... Mom had a special affection for cardinals. The cardinals on the website are from her collection.
