Evanovich, Janet Metro Girl HarperCollins 2004 0060584009 / 9780060584009 First Edition Hard Cover Fine Fine Near-new condition. Stated First Edition. NO remainder marks or price clippings. Tight spine - Bright pages. NO writing, marks or tears inside book. 296 pages. - She writes "high speed comic mayhem" (Detroit Free Press); she’s "a blast of fresh air" (Washington Post), "side-splittingly funny" (Publishers Weekly) and "a winner" (Glamour). In other words, she’s Janet Evanovich. And she debuts at HarperCollins with a spectacular new novel, complete with high stakes, hot nights, murder and graft. Not to mention car chases, car races, car explosions, and car--well, you get the idea. Alexandra Barnaby got the brains in her family. The little gray cells certainly bypassed Barney’s younger brother, Wild Bill. He’s a pretty good boat captain but he’s taken on a new job with his eyes conveniently closed. Before long, Bill goes missing, so Barney is dispatched to Florida with the bugs and the heat and the bad-hair-day humidity. Barney’s thinking things can’t get too much worse as she makes the rounds of South Beach, unemployed and sunburned, following her brother’s trail of broken-hearted bimbos. Too bad for Barney--she’s wrong about the getting worse part. Enter Sam Hooker. Somebody’s stolen his boat and the trail leads to--you guessed it--Wild Bill. Since Will Bill is missing, Hooker decides to follow Barney and see if she can lead him to his boat. Dogs and cats never die in the world of Evanovich, and bad guys are almost always brought to justice. Sam Hooker and Alexandra Barnaby, in their quest to reclaim what’s theirs, blast through Florida from Daytona straight on to Key West, exposing a plot to grab Cuban land and to lay waste the people involved. Cussing and tasteless sexual inneuendo included. Price:

Evanovich, Janet Plum Lovin' New York, New York, U.S.A. St. Martin's Press 2007 0312306342 / 9780312306342 First Edition Hard Cover As New As New New / Unread copy - Stated First Edition - Price inside dustcover: $16.95 - NO remainder marks or price clippings - Tight spine - Bright pages - NO writing, marks or tears - The saying "When it rains, it pours" certainly applies to the love life of Stephanie Plum, the charming protagonist in Janet Evanovich's wildly popular mystery saga featuring the lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter (Twelve Sharp, Eleven On Top, et al.). In Plum Lovin' -- a "between-the-numbers" mini-escapade -- Plum's love triangle (which includes Trenton cop Joseph Morelli and bounty hunter Ricardo "Ranger" Manoso) suddenly becomes a quadrilateral when Diesel, a hunky heartthrob who is as mentally unstable as he is mysterious, suddenly shows up in Plum's life. A self-proclaimed Unmentionable (someone with abilities that "go beyond what would be considered normal human limitations"), Diesel is somewhere between a certifiable wack job and a superhero with a bad attitude, but Stephanie couldn't care less about his grasp (or lack thereof) on reality: He has killer dimples and a smile that makes women weak in the knees. And he has Annie Hart, a bail-jumping "relationship expert" who is on Stephanie's most wanted list, in his possession. For Plum to get hold of Hart, however, she must first help out five of Annie's lovelorn clients. So, with Valentine's Day quickly approaching, Plum is forced to play Cupid for a divorced mother of four, a dorky vet, a 35-year-old virgin, a shy butcher, and her sister's boyfriend! Readers who don't find themselves spontaneously laughing out loud throughout this novel should check for a pulse. Paul Goat Allen Price:

Evanovich, Janet Plum Spooky (Stephanie Plum Series) St Martins Pr 2009 0312383320 / 9780312383329 First Edition Hard Cover Fine Fine Near-new condition. Appears unread. Stated First Edition. NO remainder marks or price clippings. Price inside dustcover: $27.95. NO writing, marks or tears inside book. Tight spine, bright pages. Synopsis: The first full-length Between-the-Numbers novel! In this adventure, Diesel returns, mayhem ensues, and Stephanie and Lulago camping in the Pine Barrens in search of the Jersey Devil. Publishers Weekly: Klutzy bounty hunter Stephanie Plum teams up with mysterious Diesel and the monkey left on her doorstep to track down a nerdy genius and his sinister business partner in the depths of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Lorelei King does her usual superlative job for the Evanovich oeuvre, adding juice and dimension to each wacky character. She deftly handles everyone, from bail bond receptionist Connie's classic New Jersey accent and outrageous sidekick Lula's brash outbursts to Ranger's smooth purr (it's amazing how he, as voiced by King, can make the word "babe" mean so many different things). The structures of Plum novels tend to be similar; it's the laughs that keep readers coming back. King enhances the humor of this series, so much so that Evanovich fans should consider putting down that book and plugging in the CD player instead. A St. Martin's Press hardcover (reviewed online). (Jan.) Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. Biography: Over a decade ago, Janet Evanovich tossed aside a career as a romantic novelist in favor of a wacky world populated by thugs, crooks, hookers, and a certain sexy little bounty hunter named Stephanie Plum and the world of modern mystery fiction hasn’t been the same since.
